Before and after!
The facade has now been fully restored and what a difference it makes.
All the cement and white wash was removed by hand due to the fragility of the ancient stone.
The stonework originally was quarried by hand and you can see the craftsmanship of the 17th Century artisans.
Just need to add the windows and shutters and the old girl will look perfect.

ReplyDeleteWell we are just a little under the budget so that is comforting - I think the major expense is going to be the furnishings - I think the old girl will be a bit demanding after being dormant for so long.

ReplyDeleteIts all very exciting - everyday seems to be real progress - cant wait to se what they have done today! The builders are really fabulous craftsman and the site is so clean and tidy its a pleasure to go there.
